How did you come up with the name of the more of the cities of the state? Since I had created a state, I had to create some cities and towns. There are more than 120 cities in Maddocha. Some of the names of the cities and towns I made up, some I took from the Bible, and some I named after people in my life. Here is a brief list of the names of the cities and towns and who they are named after. Hardaway, the state capitol, was named after my favorite basketball player, Anfernee Hardaway. Pace was named after the Anointed Pace Sisters. Cudetown and Chilton were named after two of my college professors. Sheldyville and Rysar were inspired by television shows. The Fox sitcom, the Simpson inspired the city of Sheldyville. The UPN series, Star Trek: Generations inspired the city of Rysar. A manager that I had while I was working as a temporary employee inspired the city of Jouette. Shiloh means peace in the Bible so I added a place of peace in Maddocha. The city of Tarleton Arms was inspired by the college that I went to, Tarleton State University. Why did you create all of the cities? Since I had a state, I figured that I needed some cities. I started small, but the list of cities grew. What cities are special to you? Dorinda is one, of course, because it is the city LaDawnya lives in. I like Shiloh because it is a place of peace. Booneville recently became special because my husband's last name is Boone. I like Precious Mountains because of the name. What cities are special to LaDawnya? LaDawnya likes Dorinda because it is her home city. She also likes Maddocha Beach. Absanie is another great city. What was the first city in Maddocha? Cookstown What was the last city in Maddocha? Jyle You told how you came up with some of the city names. How did come up with the other city names? Mostly, from looking at street signs, the names of other cities, last names, and simple creative inspiration. Why did you create a whole basketball and football league for the state? Just being creative. I had created athletes from the state, so I created the leagues. Why just basketball and football? I am a big basketball and football fan. Why not have all the cities have teams? Well, a number of the cities couldn't afford teams because the populations aren't large enough. The only cities that have teams are cities that have populations of over 95,000. Not all cities with populations over 95,000 have teams, but they could if they choose to. Why don't you have the sports teams listed with their websites? I am working on that these days. There are a lot of aspects of LaDawnya's World that are currently still in the works. There seems to be a crazy breakdown of the divisions of the Basketball League. Can you explain that? I divided the map into by East & West. I used the divisions that the NBA has and assigned the cities to them. There is no real reasoning to the divisions. What city has the largest population? Hardaway - 1,032,265 (2000) Colson - 8,504 (2000) What is the racial breakdown of Maddocha? I don't know. Hadn't thought about it. Are there smaller towns and townships in Maddocha? Yes there are. They are not listed on a map at this time. |
